Had a buddy order some food, in the order he requested a 6piece mozzarella stick and only 4 showed up. He called and they delivered the missing 2 mozzarella sticks. He was banned because he told them that is the most Jewish thing he's ever seen. he said it was the opposite of Schindler's list.

I know, I know, yadda, yadda, yadda...it is pricey and service can be a little confused and slow...but I do love this place! I love the red booths and the old-time posters and the door to the attached bowling alley... This is the original Jerry's Deli, opened in 1978 and in business for 42 years! I was so sad to hear that they are closing as of this Friday, October 30, 2020! Only the Marina del Rey location remains. As part of my own personal farewell tour, I came in for a bowl of Matzo Ball Soup, $12.75. It is my favorite. Perfectly seasoned, not too salty (like at other Jewish delis) and with a humongous matzo ball like your Jewish mama used to make! This is serious comfort food that'll cure heartache, headache or a cold/flu. I will miss this! I also took home a corned beef sandwich on rye, $18.85, because what's more classic than that? Yes, it's a bit expensive, but it is beautifully pink and meaty without imperfections. I paired it with their coleslaw and potato salad and an awesome pickle. Again, comfort food at its finest. On my way out, I had to peruse the to-go items, alas, no Hamantashen, but I did take home a gigantic Black & White "cookie", $6.00. This is not really a cookie. First of all, it's as big as my hand with the fingers extended and its texture is more like a doughnut. Unique. Also had to snag a six pack of Everything bagels, a bargain at $6.00. Definitely the end of an era...it's rumored that Comedian Andy Kaufman started out as a busboy at this Jerry's Deli location. I do believe he will haunt this property for years to come. Whoever comes in next has better treat "Latka Gravas" right!

Hey, not sure why the reviews here are so slow. Been here a few times, always late night, and it's great! Tonight we had the matzo ball soup as we approach chilly season. Soup was flavorful with just the right amount of chicken (that weren't dry), a few pieces of carrot to keep us feeling like we got our vegetables for the day, the noodles were thin and fun to eat and of course the huge matzo ball took center stage. Yum! If you've never had this dish before, just get it. It's like getting a bowl of chicken noodle soup on steroid. It satisfied a craving I didn't know I was having! Ordered the zucchini sticks which came with ranch and salsa. This dish was just ok but it did come out piping hot so that's always a plus. The bf ordered the pastrami sandwich which he wasn't planning on getting. However, the waitress walked by with it for another table and he had to get it. He was very pleased with not only the portion but also the taste. It wasn't too salty and goes well with the healthy portion of pickle wedges on the side. The dish also came with potatoe salad and coleslaw which we didn't get to because we were too stuffed. Of course there's always room for dessert so we ordered the chocolate fudge cake. Again, a healthy portion, as in, for my eyes! Very happy spending that $9 on the cake. Moist and layered fudge. Excellent choice. Almost got a cup of coffee to go with it but I had to stop myself from going down that road. Seriously, the menu is extensive. It'll satisfy any craving you possibly might have from a deli from hotdog to pizza to even some pita bread! The booth behind me ordered extra pita and this whole time I thought they were pancakes! I'll have to come back to what all the rave is about on that one. Our waitress was attentive and got our orders correct. She was fast with our requests and another gentleman also asked what we wanted to drink right when we sat down. He refilled my water before I reached to the bottom of the glass. I didn't catch his name but he was working so hard. Again, not sure what the previous bad reviews were about but all I can say was it satisfied my late night cravings of food, soup and dessert!
